Reach anyone with these 5 steps

Meet the entrepreneur, actor, or activist that inspires you the most.

We all look up to people in our life.

How many of us reach out to them? Not a lot.

Why is this? We don’t feel qualified to connect with someone inspiring, and we fear rejection.

To change this mindset, you need to realize that you are special, and you add value to the person you look up to by connecting with them.

The story of Steve Jobs as a 12-year-old really inspired me to start reaching out to people I admire. At 12, Steve was building a frequency counter and needed a few parts to complete his project. So he picked up the directory, found Bill Hewlett’s phone number (co-founder of HP), and dialed him up. Bill was so impressed with Steve that he gave him the parts and an internship during the summer to work on building frequency counters.

Now, you might think, it’s not that easy. But really, it’s *easier *****today than ever before. You just need to give it a shot and not care about getting rejected. What’s the worst that can happen, right?

Follow my 5 step process, and you can get in touch with anyone. I’ve used these steps to get in touch with CEOs of billion dollar senior living chains for my eldercare startup AmityConnect, YCombinator Founders, and inspiring entrepreneurs like

Cliff Weitzman.

1. Use an email finder

Go to RocketReach and search the individual by their name or LinkedIn URL. You can also try using other email finders, but RocketReach has offered the most accurate emails in my experience.

2. Have a clear ask
